CR2 Underwater Robotics Club
Through the Underwater Robotics Club, CR2 students are learning about Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and their applications in environmental surveys. Our club's eventual goal is to use our ROV to conduct surveys of coral reef populations (using the Reef Check protocol for assessment for reef ecosystems), and to study the invasive lionfish (Pterois) that are harming coral reef ecosystems in the Dominican Republic. This club was made possible by a grant given by the Motorola Foundation, through the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
